Memorial Day, Troops Remembered...

Remember Our Troops

They gave their Tomorrows for Our Todays...

Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May in the U.S.A.   Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military.

Have a safe day!

Memorial Holiday Weekend...

It has been absolutely gorgeous in Arizona this weekend! Off to a picnic in a few, but I wanted to share with my readers my "newest" creation. I am so excited about them. Without further ado *drum* roll... Fabric Flower Button Post Earrings!

Now how cute are these?  Yes, I am prejudice, since I made them. *smile*  But I just love, love, love them!

I have so much fun creating these flowers for my dog/cat collar listings and making them into hair clips so us ladies can be fashionable.  It occurred to me, well, why not earrings?!?

So, I made the thought a reality.

They are so comfortable to wear.  Extremely light weight.  You don't realize you are wearing them.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Holiday weekend!

Excluding Your IP Address from...

Many times since Etsy and Google Analytics got together for our shop stats, I have seen numerous threads started in the forums in regard to how do we exclude our own IP Address from GA.

It is actually quite simple, but can be confusing. Hopefully this post will make it easy.

The first thing you will need to do is get your IP Address, you can do this by going to: What is My IP Address?

Now you need to create a Filter, using the Filter Manager located under Analytic Settings, this is what it looks like... It is located at the bottom right hand corner.

Below are the steps to setting up this Filter...

1) Go to Filter Manager (bottom right corner on the Analytics Settings page.
2) Click Add Filter (upper right corner)
3) Type in a Title for your Filter... i.e. Exclude IP Etsy Shop
4) Click next to Predefined filter
5) Filter Type: Exclude
6) Use drop down arrow, pick "Traffic from the IP Addresses"
7) Use drop down arrow, pick "That are equal to"
8) IP Address: now enter your IP address
9) Go to: Apply Filter to Website Profiles
10 Under Available Website Profiles, click on the site you want to exclude IP addresses from, then click on Add. This moves it from the left box to the right side box.
11) Click on Save Changes

Below is what your filter should look like once you have completed the steps above... (click on the photo to enlarge it.)

**NOTE:  This filter does not work if you have a Dynamic IP Address.

Hope you find this helpful!

Have an awesome Holiday weekend!

Dog Gone Days...

Wow, I can't believe we are at the end of May! My days have been incredibly busy, for a couple of reasons.   I know you are just dying to know what those reasons are...  huh, huh?  *smile*

From the picture above I gave you one reason.   I have been busy, busy, busy, creating fabric flower dog/cat collar accessories.  I have made hair clips to adorn ourselves with, so why not dressed up the awesome animals in our lives?

I made them so they very simply slide on your pets collar.

Then yesterday I thought, why not make a matching set.   See them soon in my ArtFire studio!

So far these are offered in my ArtFire studio, I haven't gotten around to posting them in my Etsy shop.

Kind of like testing the water out here with them.

So now that brings me to my other reason why I have been so busy.

I opened a studio for my goodies on ArtFire a week ago.  If you aren't familiar with ArtFire, it is an awesome Artisan Marketplace home to artists from around the globe.

Talk about mucho work!  But I love the way it is looking. You can visit my ArtFire Studio by clicking on this link: Stitch*n*Tyme

So don't be shy, let me know what you think of my newest endeavor.  If you have any suggestions, don't hold back.

See you all in June!

Google Product Search Prohibited Words...

For as long as I have known, Google Product Search has No-No words they don't like.  For our listings (items for sale) to appear in Google Shopping, we "must" follow Google Product rules.

So you ask, what are these prohibited words?

Using the word "FREE"
Google DOES NOT like the word "Free",  so when you want to say you offer free shipping, you can replace it with "shipping included", "price includes shipping".

You have to be careful when using the word free in any form, i.e.:
Preservative-Free
Allergy-Free
Paraben-free

Words to Describe Color:
Champagne
Burgundy
Wine
Gunmetal

Alcoholic Beverages:
Whiskey
Ale
Gin
Brandy
Rum
Beer

Smoke Related Items:
Cigar
Cigarette
Smoke
Smoky - i.e. Smoky Quartz

Sexual Content:
Butt
Sexy
Sensual

Other Misc. Prohibited Words To Avoid:
Adult - Use Men, Women to describe size
Precious metal
Gun

The above list is not all inclusive of what Google Product Search doesn't like.

**NOTE: Remember that Google Search and Google Product Search are two different search engines. The No-No words do not affect your listings showing in "regular" Google searches. The majority of people searching Google will use Google Search not Google Product Search. With that in mind, only you can decide if you want to include the words Google doesn't like.

Have a great day!
