It's Blooming Bookmarks! Hallelujah!
As many of you have probably noticed, I waste no fabric. I have baggies with scrap fabric left over from other sewing projects. I didn't know what I was going to do with them, just knew I couldn't throw them out.
I am an avid reader, I was enjoying the collection of Twilight books when I lost my favorite bookmark.
Now no way was I about to go buy a new one, ooooohh no, so.... The birth of Blooming Bookmarks happened!
I love, love, love creating them.
The blooms are incredibly fun to make and putting them together is even better. I can just let my imagination go.
Can't get any better than that!
Now, I am off to enjoy a good book...

Let Them Eat Cake...
I have been so busy with stocking my shop with new items for the upcoming holiday season that I have totally ignored my Blog. My apologies to all my readers! :)
While taking a much needed break from tending to my online shops I found this absolutely incredible and gorgeous Treasury on Etsy.
Have a wonderful day!

ArtFire and Collections...
I am a Maven on ArtFire. Just what is a Maven? Mavens test out new features for the site before they are released to the community. We try really hard to break them. HA! When we can't break them anymore the feature is then released to the ArtFire community.
So, what are we testing now? Collections! They are similar to Etsy Treasuries. ArtFire released the testing in the last 24 hours. So of course I am having too much fun playing with them. I have now created two Collections. Without further ado, here they are *drum* roll....

To view these awesome ArtFire Artisan studios, click on either Collection. Enjoy!
Have a great day!

Push Pins and It's the Weekend...
It's Friday and quitting time at the office, check list of things to do:
Put work papers away (check)
Pens/Pencils into handcrafted holder (check)
Shut down the computer (check)
Hmmmm... what have I forgotten? Oh yes, I remember now! Put new handcrafted push pins on cork board with reminder for lunch on Monday... (check)
Soooooo, did you like my subtle way of introducing my newest endeavor? *smile* These tiny fabric covered button push pins were a fun challenge. I have baggies filled with little scraps of fabric that I don't like tossing because I knew I could find something to do with them and alas I did!
I could fill up a room with these push pins with all the scraps of fabric I have, but OK, OK, I won't, it could be dangerous, all those sharp, pointed ends. With my luck I would sit on one! HA!
Now, let the weekend begin! Enjoy it everyone!

Sage and Pink Blush...
With the temperatures so high the last couple of days, cool drinks and soft colors surrounding me made the heat tolerable.
With that in mind I created a Treasury on Etsy filled with "awesome" artisans and their wonderful items created in either Sage or Blush.

Etsy New Treasury East...
WOOT! Love the new feature Etsy released today. Treasury East! It's in Beta, but hopefully not for long.
This new version is in HTML not Flash, which makes it even more awesomeness (is that a word? HA!). So without further ado, here is my first Treasury in Treasury East!
You don’t have to take my word for the greatness of it. Here’s the scoop from Etsy:
Treasury East (beta) is a testing ground for the future of the Treasury. Create lists of items, as many as you like. Comment on other members’ lists. Share lists and enjoy! Treasury East lists have no limits and no expiration. Beautiful, diverse lists may be featured on Etsy’s front page.”
Thank you Etsy Admin, this one earns you "5" Stars!

Yo-Yo Rosettes a Small Bit of History
Recently I have become addicted to making Yo-Yo Rosettes and now making them into barrettes, hair clips and ponytail holders. So of course I just had to know where they originated. It has been so much fun reading their history.
The word Yo-Yo comes from the Filipino word for “come-come” or “return”, and that it was very popular in the 1930-40s. In the 1920s a man named Pedro Flores brought a Filipino Yo-Yo to the United States. A businessman named Donald Duncan bought the Filipino Yo-Yo Company around 1928. In 1932 Mr. Duncan received a trademark for the word Yo-Yo.
Yo-Yos were popular because women could carry the little circles of fabric with them and make Yo-Yos whenever they had a free moment.
I vision ladies sitting around in their wonderful Victorian chairs with gas lights or lanterns, chatting about their simple lives and using their scraps of fabric to create these lovelies.
How many hours do you suppose they spent cutting small circles of fabric, then hand stitching them to create beautiful quilts with their rosettes?
Maybe one day I will take up the challenge and create a wonderful quilt that can be handed down.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Spring is one of my favorite seasons and Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays.
This last week I have been hard at work creating fabric flower button hair clips and ponytail holders with spring colors. Pinks, purples, yellows and greens.
I have my windows open and letting in all the wonderful weather from outside come inside while I am working.
Because I am feeling soooooo good, I have to pass it on to you.
Are you ready for this?

Using YouTube for Advertising...
Being a HUGE fan of YouTube I just knew that some day I would have to try creating a video for my online business. And guess what? It was so easy, I couldn't believe it took me three years to get around to it.
Now you ask, how did I do it? See that's where we have a problem, it's "top secret" info, so if I told you, I would have to kill you. NOT! :)
I first visited Microsoft and downloaded their "FREE" program Photo Story 3 for Windows. The rest was easy. The program has a wizard and walks you through step by step. I had my video done and ready for YouTube in less than 30 minutes. The program even has music you can select from to enhance your video.
It was Easy, Peazy... and you don't have to be a computer nerd to create your own video.
And with a drum roll, I present my video: Stitch*n*Tyme
Have fun creating your own video, if you do, please be sure to post a link to it in my comments. I would love to view it. :)
Have an awesome day!

Spring is a Coming...

Living in Arizona has it's challenges, one being the HOT weather. Cool days are few and far between. Spring, Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons, even though we don't experience change of seasons. We simply go from brown to brown, but oh those cool days are glorious.
I fill my life with color through fabric and creations made from them. Recently I
have taken on the challenge of creating fabric flower button hair clips. I am having so much fun making them. The combinations are endless!I ooh and ahh after each new hair clip, thinking to myself, this one is prettier than the last one. Of course it isn't, because they are all PRETTY! :)
If you asked me to pick just one, I couldn't do it. Nope, I sure couldn't.

I hope you have enjoyed a sneak peek of what I have been up to this week.
Now I am off to create more lovelies.
Have an awesome day!

Red and Pink, Oh those Colors...
So I have spent the last month gearing up for Valentine's day which is fast approaching.I love the day, why? Because "red" and "pink" are two of my favorite colors. Red is so strong and vibrant and Pink is so delicate and soft. As they say, "opposites attract". I have had too much fun creating items for this special day.

When I created the lace bag, I visioned a gorgeous ring, bracelet or necklace inside of it and the recipient giggling in excitement.
I couldn't resist creating a pair of earrings for me after making a pair for my shop. They are so delicate, I love them!
But now, we can't forget about baby. What would Valentine's Day be without dressing her up all cutesy?

Two love birds resting on a heart and since babies are delicate and soft, I knew I had to do them in Pink.
Enjoy your Valentine's Day, may it be filled with LOVE!
